Builder's Risk Insurance covers unfinished buildings under construction, usually against damage from severe weather conditions but also vandalism and other causes. Builder's Risk Insurance usually doesn't provide coverage against the earthquake. Unless specifically stated in the building contract otherwise, Builder's Risk Insurance is bought by the building owner (and not the contractor). It may, however, be bought by the contractor if both sides agree upon such solution in the contract.
